Exciting things are happening here at Goat Milk Stuff. All of us (goats and humans) are enjoying the sunshine and looking forward to all the new things that are taking place.
New Soap
We’ve replaced our original patchouli soap with a Patchouli soap made exclusively with patchouli essential oil. It is a deeper, richer patchouli, and we know patchouli fans are going to love it. We’re making it available for sale now, but it won’t be fully cured until April 25th.
Baby powder is now available again and will be fully cured April 22nd. Both soaps are safe to use now, but will last longer if you wait til their cure dates before using them.
Easter
Goat Milk Stuff makes a great addition to Easter baskets. We have a special Easter gift box that is similar to our Valentine’s box, but with some extra goodies added. You can choose the scents/flavors of a bar of soap, a lotion stick, a bag of sugar scrubs, a lip balm, a bath bomb and goat milk fudge. Keep reading to see how you can get a discount on the Easter gift box.
Please get your Easter orders in by April 18th, so we can guarantee to get them in the mail with enough time for USPS to deliver them for Easter.
Limited Edition Soaps
We’re discontinuing Cucumber Melon and moving it to the limited editions. Jim also made 60 bars of Emery’s Flower Garden. It’s not the exact same as last year’s soap, but it is close. We also have 60 bars of Red Clover Tea (we’d love to hear some feedback on it). Both of these will be fully cured on 4/18.
Lotion Tub Scoops
We now include a little scoop with the lotion tubs to make it easier to remove and apply the solid lotion. If you’ve purchased a lotion tub in the past and would like one of these scoops, just put a note in the notes section of your shopping cart and we will include one for free in your order.
Colter
We’re working on putting together videos of each of the family members. Colter’s video is now available. Get to know him better:
Contest
We’re running a trivia contest this month. On April 24th, we will randomly choose one completed trivia question entry to win a $25 GMS gift certificate. If all the questions are answered correctly, we will increase the gift certificate amount to $50! To enter, just go to our contest entry page and click "Take the Trivia.
Flat Rate Envelopes
At the beginning of the year, we had some trouble with a handful of customers being told by their postal carrier that they had to pay extra postage for their soap. PJ spent time on the phone with the post office and was told that the way we package our soaps in the flat rate envelope is correct and does not require extra postage. It is perfectly acceptable (and recommended by the post office) for us to tape the envelope closed.
If you ever have trouble with this yourself, look on the envelope and point out to your postal carrier, that the envelope reads (in blue), “Any amount of mailable material may be enclosed, as long as the envelope is not modified, and the contents are entirely confined within the envelope with the adhesive provided as the means of closure”.
We haven’t heard of any problems recently, so we’re hoping there was just some internal miscommunication at USPS.
Fundraisers
Our fundraiser program is going really well. If you know anybody who may be looking to raise funds, we’ve put together a video to provide some information. We have several families successfully fundraising for overseas adoptions and another for a service dog.
Newsletter Special
This month you have a choice on your newsletter discount. You can either choose a free limited edition bar or $7 off the Easter Gift Box. To receive a free limited edition bar, add it to your cart and then use the code “free”. The shopping cart will deduct $5 from your order. To receive the discount on the gift box, add a gift box to your order and then enter the code “Easter” to receive $7 off your order.
Please be aware that you can only use one code per month. You can’t use both. You also need to have a minimum order of $10 (before shipping) and you need to be logged in for the cart to accept the code.
Homestead Happenings
Not only are the Jonas children growing, but so is our business and our need for goat milk. We’ve always admired the Soldier Mountain herd out in Idaho, so when we found out they were downsizing we decided it was the perfect time for us to upsize. Jim (and three of his friends) drove all the way out to Idaho in the Hulk to pick up our new goats. 3987 miles and 76 hours later, we are the proud owners of 5 new milkers (Myna Bird, Hummingbird, Red Bird, Fashion, and Charm) and a buckling (Convict). They’re all settling in and after much negotiating, Colter and Emery have decided which goat is being milked by which boy.

Upcoming Shows
We’ll be doing just a few shows in 2011. Our first upcoming show is the Howard Steamboat Victorian Chautauqua in May. We’ve made the decision that we will only be bringing soap with us to our shows. If you would like to pick up any “other stuff” at shows, please place an order on the website, choose “pickup at farm” and in the notes section, ask us to bring it to the show. Please do this just a day or two before the show.
As always, we want you to know how much we appreciate your continued support. We love making and sharing our soaps with you!
The Jonas Family!
