Cindy's Testimonial

I began using goat milk soap about two years ago. I didn’t buy it because I knew how healthy it was for you. I bought it because it was pretty and smelled so good. I learned about the health benefits from actually using it and that made me curious to know more. So I did some investigating.

My early goat soap was not one of PJ’s, unfortunately. My first purchase from PJ was actually accidental. I had a brand new supply of my first goat milk soap, but PJ's son was so adorable and such a salesman I had to buy from him too. So did my daughter who was with me.

It only took a couple of days for me to see that this product was far better quality than my original goat milk soap.

My daughter and son in law were staying with us. The night we got home from our purchase, I quickly put a bar in the shower. When my son-in-law got out of the shower a few hours later, he came looking for me. He said, "I LOVE that soap in the shower, what the heck is it?" He was amazed. He has had terrible skin issues for his whole life. I was hooked and so were they.

At first, there were immediate and quick results. For a while I didn’t notice any additional benefits. I was still loyal because the initial benefits were still there, just not noticing anything additional. I still kept using it though because it was pretty and smelled so yummy!

But as time passed, I kept noticing little things here and there. First, my feet stopped cracking. Then, a skin condition that I had for about five years disappeared entirely for the first time. The fine wrinkles around my eyes also seem shallower. I stopped using hand lotion. I work in a kitchen full time so my hands always were a battle to keep from cracking. That became a very slight issue instead of a ten times a day problem.

The biggest thing, though, was that my son-in-law and grandson’s skin began to clear up. They both have extra sensitive skin and eczema. The issues they had always suffered with either disappeared or became infrequent and less noticeable.

My daughter and I talked frequently about how wonderful it felt to not be pouring chemicals on our skin. I am 51 years old, and I had suffered from adult acne since I was in my thirties. That almost totally disappeared with a few months of use. My skin used to itch me to death from my age. No longer. I think I officially became a forever convert ... aka addict... around this time!

Several years ago my husband had a very serious, and almost deadly infection in his leg. He nearly lost his leg over it and the battle wounds from it will be with him forever. As his Doctor so politely put it, this leg will forever give him trouble and he will never again win beauty contests with it (not that he ever did before :).

In the first year after his release from the hospital, the dangers to the damaged skin scared the hell out of us (to put it mildly). The skin was so deeply scarred and damaged. Even the new skin was so thin, it would crack at the slightest bump. Plus, new chance of infection was a daily nightmare.

We bought expensive crčmes and he lathered and slathered daily to try to reduce that risk. But within months of using PJ and Jim's goat milk soap that began to slowly change. He began to get lazy about the lathering and slathering. As a result, I began to nag at him to be more careful about it. I was worried we were taking backward steps. But my fears soon seemed to be unnecessary. And now, only once a week or less, is he doing anything other than bathing with goat milk soap.

All of these things led me to want to sell this wonderful soap. I knew more people should know and enjoy the benefits.

We are avid farmers' market visitors. We had toyed with the idea of entering the market scene on several occasions over the last few years. We loved the atmosphere and the relaxed experience. I approached my hubby and said, "What would you think…" And the rest is history.

We jumped in and became fully committed. We work hard as a team to share our experiences with our customers. I can not tell you how many people return after a week or two of using our soap samples and share touching stories with us.

I recently had a woman listen to my sales pitch. She seemed to be a bit reluctant to believe the benefits of goat milk soap. I thought she might recently have been in a bad car accident because her face seemed heavily burned. I later learned it was not a burn at all, but rosacea. My heart reached out to her.

She reluctantly bought, and told us as she paid, that she would let us know how it worked for her as she had “skin issues”. Like I said, she was not a believer yet, but was willing to try anything. I had no idea that her face was not burned. I didn’t even know she had skin conditions until she paid for her soap and told us.

About two weeks later, she returned smiling from ear to ear… bringing a daughter with her. With tears in her eyes, she told me how much her face had improved in just two weeks. She said she had been under doctors' care for years for her rosacea. She was quite emotional. She leaned in to show me her face and told me that in just two weeks her face problems had been reduced to 1/3 of the size it had been for years. In the weeks that followed she reappeared each week with another friend, a daughter-in-law and even a neighbor.

Last week, when she came for her weekly visit, she was grinning from ear to ear, sporting a brand new hairdo and a huge smile. I saw no evidence at all of her previous issues. I felt emotional just seeing her joy.

So, there you have it, selling goat milk soap is not a get rich quick plan. Don’t enter the market if you think it will be. PJ's soap is not as rapidly consumable as other soaps out there. I use the fact that her soap lasts so long as a positive selling point. While this is a plus for the consumer, it is not a plus for the market seller.

You have to be on top of your game with every person you come in contact with. We are always looking for new, loyal customers. We have just been doing this for a few months now, but as long as PJ and her family will have us, we are in this for the long haul. Time and a loyal customer base will pay off. Each week, that point becomes more and more noticeable as our sales continue to grow.

If you're thinking about jumping in, make sure you look long and hard at why. Be sure you're ready to commit totally. Make sure you're okay with little “free time”. It is a business just like any other, and commitment and longevity are the real secrets here. I BELIEVE in what I sell, I use it myself, and all of my family uses it. I enjoy sharing that with my customers. The friends and customers you will make as a result of selling PJ's soap are an added bonus.

PJ told me right out the gate... never let anyone pass by without a sample or a business card. And never, ever plan to sit down during a market or show. If you're sitting, they walk right by. That advice has been priceless! I work hard, I never sit, I never shut up (I am a rambler by nature so that pays off). I have other competition at the markets. I think I offer a higher quality product but most of all, I follow PJ’s advice, I am always ON, always selling, always communicating. My customers try this wonderful product because I work hard at telling them just why they should try it.

If all of this sounds up your alley, then jump in and join us. PJ and her family make a great product and offer wonderful support. With some strong determination of your own, you can be in charge of your own destiny and have fun doing it too. It has been wonderful for us and definitely heartwarming!
