Goat Milk Stuff February 2011 Newsletter

2011 is shaping up to be a very exciting year at Goat Milk Stuff. We’ve got some big news to share in our homestead happenings, as well as lots of new stuff that not only smells great – but tastes great too!

New Sugar Scrubs

We have a wonderful new product that we’ve all fallen in love with – solid sugar scrubs.  They are available in both individual hearts and cubes as well as gift bags and gift tubs.  They exfoliate, clean, and moisturize all in one.

New Soap

The almond soap is finally ready to ship!  We recommend you let it finish curing for a few more weeks – but you can smell it and enjoy it while you’re waiting to use it.  The chocolate fudge soap is also available for a limited time.

Goat Milk Fudge

When we started Goat Milk Stuff, one of the first “Stuff” things we wanted to add was goat milk fudge.  Unfortunately, we need a certified kitchen to sell the fudge we make.  We have plans to eventually build a certified kitchen, but until then, we have somebody (with a certified kitchen) who is making fudge for us.  We have chocolate and peanut butter fudge now available.  Let me tell you, this stuff is addicting.

Contest

We’re going to be giving away two $50 Goat Milk Stuff gift certificates – one to the winner and one to the person who referred the winner!  So the more people you tell about the contest, the better your chances to win.

Check out the soaper bowl and enter the contest to vote for the MVP:

There are several places where you can go to enter.
Facebook  entry: click on the “sweepstakes” tab on the top.
PJ’s Blog entry: click on the “enter to win” button on the bottom right.

Brett’s Video

Those of you who have met us in person are always telling me how special my children are.  We wanted to do some videos to let you get to know the children better.  We decided to start these videos with Brett (so she wouldn’t be nervous waiting for her turn).

Valentine’s Day

We have a special, Valentine’s Day gift basket (box actually).  It contains a chocolate fudge soap, a chocolate lotion stick, chocolate sugar scrubs, and a chocolate lip balm.  Perfect for those chocolate lovers that are on a diet!  Watch as Fletcher has fun describing this gift set to you:

Please get your Valentine’s Day orders in by February 7th, so we can guarantee to get them in the mail with enough time for USPS to deliver them for Valentine’s Day.

Distributors

The distributor program that we started last fall has been going great.  If you’re a lover of Goat Milk Stuff products and think that you’d like to start selling them at craft fairs, farmers’ markets or at work, check out our distributor program page.  There is some basic information there to get you started.

Vacation

Dairy goats need two months dry (not being milked) before they have their kids each year.  For us, this usually fall during January and February.  We use this time to go on vacation to visit Grandma at Disney World.  Grandma and Poppy work there, so the Jonas Family gets to enjoy a (free to us) Disney vacation.  This year, instead of going straight home from Disney, we’re heading up to New Hampshire to visit Jim’s family.  It’s been 3 years since we’ve been up there, so everyone is very excited.

While we’re gone (1/28 – 2/18), Gretchen will be here answering phones and emails and shipping out orders.  She and her family (plus some other friends) will also be house/cat/goat sitting.  If you have any questions, Gretchen will be happy to help.  She’ll be able to contact us by phone if she needs to.

Newsletter Special

We had such a good response to being able to choose your newsletter special, that we decided to do it again.  We’ve introduced the sugar scrubs which are fantastic.  If you’d like to receive 3 sugar scrub cubes for free, just add them (you can always add more) to your cart and use the code “sugar”.  If you’d prefer to stick with a free limited edition bar of soap, simply add one to your cart and then use the coupon code “limited”.

Please be aware that you can only use one code per month.  You can’t use both.  You also need to have a minimum order of $10 (before shipping) and you need to be logged in for the cart to accept the code.

Homestead Happenings

We have big news happening at the Jonas homestead and Goat Milk Stuff.  Our current homestead is 3 acres which has been wonderful.  But it has become very obvious that we are outgrowing it.  We need more room for our growing children, our growing goat herd, and our growing business.

So we have an accepted offer on a 31 acre property near here.  We are currently in the process of trying to get the property re-zoned so we can live, work, and raise goats there.

It’s a long process that could take up to 4 months.  The children have fallen in love with the property.  They’ve found climbing trees they love and can’t wait to splash in the creek come summer.  We would really appreciate your prayers that the zoning changes would not be difficult and that they would be accepted.

This photo has nothing at all to do with the new property, but I wanted to share it anyway.  any guesses where we are??

Jonas Kids at Disney World

As always, we want you to know how much we appreciate your continued support. We love making and sharing our soaps with you!

The Jonas Family!
