Laundry Soap

We use real goat milk soap to make our laundry soap. This is a wonderful alternative to store bought laundry detergents with optical brighteners that can be irritating to the skin and bad for the environment. We have many customers using this soap on cloth diapers with great results (the vinegar rinse is important if you're washing cloth diapers). Please note that our laundry soap will not "suds" like store-bought laundry detergent. It will still get your clothes clean, and is better for your washing machines (particularly high efficiency machines).

The large laundry soap tub costs $13 to ship. We can actually fit two of them in the box for just one $13 shipping fee.
The large laundry refill can fit in the regional flat rate box, with some extra room for another ~5 bars of soap. This costs from $8 - $12 to ship depending on how far from Indiana you live.

Directions (included on your laundry soap):
High Efficiency/Front load Washers: Use 1 Tbsp
Regular Washers: Use 2 Tbsp
Use an extra Tbsp for particularly dirty laundry

Optional
Use 1/2 cup white vinegar in the rinse cycle to soften and brighten clothes.
Use up to 1 cup hydrogen peroxide as a whitener instead of bleach.

The small laundry soap is ~20 Tbsp and the large is now~ 160 Tbsp.

Notes on septic systems:
Septic experts generally tell people to avoid using powdered laundry soap for two reasons:
1. too much is often used and does not dissolve properly
2. many 'bargain' powders have large amounts of non-biodegradable fillers such as clay which will clog the pores in the soil in your drain field.

Now the good news... your GMS laundry soap requires a small amount of powder per load, so it easily dissolves completely even in high efficiency washers that use far less water. Also, we do not add any such fillers that will lead to premature septic failure. So you can continue to use and recommend the GMS laundry soap that you've come to love with confidence!

Far and away the best laundry soap powder ever!! You can visibly see the difference after one wash!! My husband is giving 50lbs. of store bought laundry detergent to our daughter because we won't use it now! We are stocking up with GMS soaps of all kinds!

When I first tried this laundry soap I was skeptical. I decided to try it on the worst thing possible.... dirty/soiled cloth diapers! I used hot water, some white vinegar, and a couple tablespoons of this laundry soap. To my suprise when the washer was done the cloth diapers smelled like nothing! NOTHING!!! There was no harsh chemical smell, no underlining urine or poo smell, nothing! Great product!

This stuff is great. It removed grape juice from my daughter's t-shirt. I've tried other all natural hand made laundry detergents...they don't work. This one far exceeds my expectations. Thanks so much!

I've just recently tried your laundry soap. I liked it so well that I have just placed an order for the 4 pound pkg. It's wonderful and so much cheaper than what I was typically using (Tide). Most of my family have eczema and/or sensitive skin and all of your products have been wonderful. Can't wait to try the laundry stick with this next order as well.

A great laundry soap! Using white vinegar in the rinse cycle instead of expensive fabric softener really works. Everything comes out clean and refreshed.

I referred my friends Jan and Chuck to your site (I gave them a bar of my soap - oatmeal and honey) to try and they loved it. I also told them to order the laundry soap (as it is the best stuff I have ever used!). They tried the small package first as well and were very impressed and are now going to order the larger version (as I just did). We will never go back to grocery store laundry detergent. I look forward to trying out the laundry stain stick. Thanks for all of your wonderful
products and the hard work to produce them for people like me who really appreciate them!

Dear PJ, I just LOVE the Laundry Soap and the tips you gave about using white vinegar to soften and brighten, use peroxide instead of bleach!!! The Vinegar works GREAT on my colored clothes and my towels!! So soft I don't need a dry sheet!! I just tried the hydrogen peroxide instead of the bleach, I was shocked to see how white my socks came out!!! And let me tell you, with pets and tile floors, my socks get pretty nasty!! Plus I will walk out on the porch in them! Thank you so much!!! I will be ordering the larger size Laundry Soap very soon!!!!! Thank you again.

PJ, I received my goats milk laundry soap and I have to tell you I am thrilled. I live in a rural area where my water comes from a well. Due to hard water with lots of iron my white laundry has slowly turned very yellow/orange and I could not find a way to resolve the problem. After washing my white towels, wash cloths and sheets just one time with your wonderful laundry soap (I added a cup of peroxide to the water), I cannot believe how much whiter my laundry came out. I am convinced that after I wash the whites a few more times with this combination, I will once again have white, white clothes. Thank you so much.

Now my skin is soft from your bath bars and my laundry is cleaner!

Ok- just finished my GMS vs. "leading baby" laundry detergent experiment. Both loads of my son's laundry came out very clean. The GMS came out much softer, almost like I used fabric softener which I did not. The GMS did not have a fragrance and that is perfect for people with eczema. The purity soap is also working wonders on my son's eczema.

FYI- Dreft is .32 per load- GMS is .28 per load with shipping directly to my door. If I was able to pick it up it only comes out to .21. Thanks again, MJ's skin never looked better!

This soap has been the best thing to ever happen to our clothes! I'm terribly allergic to most commercial brands and after changing laundry detergent again, I decided to give the GMS Laundry Soap a try and I was not disappointed. Add the white vinegar and our already soft clothes turned even softer.

I am allergic to any kind of perfume/scent/dye in laundry soap. We'd been using the "free" versions of commerical brands (the ones that don't have fragrance, etc in them) and it helped, but I was still suffering from some allergy-induced migraines. I had tried this soap in the past and then when we got our front loaders decided that I was going back to GMS. It works beautifully in my front loader, uses so little product, gets my clothes ultra-clean and now that we have gotten everything we own through at least one wash with this soap, I am MIGRAINE FREE!
Thank you, GMS, for giving me my energy back and taking away my migraines!!

I really love this detergent! Its price is comparable to buying other commercial products, and its natural, which I love! I will admit that I don't use it elusively, but when I do use it, my clothes are just as clean and soft as they are when I use other detergents, and pairing it with a vinegar "softener" really makes them bright and soft!

This soap washes off completely, without leaving any irritants behind. I also love that it comes without optical brighteners--it's so hard to find ones without optical brighteners these days. I've found them most effective when washing cotton in hot water. Also, it's very affordable for a natural, handmade product!

Over the years I have really struggled to find a soap that I could use. I have allergies, eczema and subacute cutaneous lupus and I'm a bit OCD when it comes to handwashing. I'll typically wash my hands anywhere from 15 to 20 times just while preparing dinner that takes under an hour. I have been through just about all the different soaps every retail store has to offer. If it didn't bother my allergies it bothered my skin. However, nothing ever really helped my skin heal. Over the past year I have been using the goat milk soap and it is the first year that I haven't had a problem with my hands cracking and bleeding from being dry. I no longer have cracked heels that hurt. I have been prescribed pharmaceutical grade lotions that have not brought about these types of results plus they smelled awful!

I have to admit, I only tried it because one of the boys asked me if I wanted to smell his favorite and he was such a good salesperson and was very professional. Thanks for introducing me to your soap!
