Goat Milk Soap Review by Donna at Champuru
Goat Milk Soap by Goat Milk Stuff comes wrapped in a 4x6 cotton bag (which is friendlier to the environment than plastic and allows soap to breathe) or optionally may be ordered unwrapped.
In the interest of disclosure and ethical blogging, I want you to know that I was not compensated in any way for this blog post. Seriously, I hate sounding like a commercial, but I found this very interesting and wanted to share it with my readers.
I just wanted to share my latest addiction. It is something unique and wonderful. Have you heard of goat milk soap? I hadn’t until, thanks to the blogosphere, I discovered a small, family-owned business called Goat Milk Stuff (GMS).
In addition to the wonderful variety of scented and unscented soaps that they make by hand, they also feature other products made with goat milk such as lip balm, lotion, and laundry soap. Although the products themselves are amazing, the truly remarkable part is that the business is run by a family of 10 on their 3-acre homestead in rural Indiana. (That is, 2 parents and their 8 children ranging in age fr0m 3-14. All 8 children are homeschooled by mom PJ!) The goat milk used in the products is produced by their herd of Alpine goats, which are not fed hormones or antibiotics. The same goats provide milk for the family, which is consumed raw, so you know that ensuring safety and quality of milk is important to them.
There are several factors that make me a loyal customer for any product/service:
small, family-owned businessbusiness advocates good ethics
made in the USA
uses natural ingredients and minimal processing
free of chemicals
safe for children
offers health benefits
economical
Goat Milk Stuff is all of those things and more, which makes me just adore them so!
I have an affinity for soap, especially scented soap. Shops like Bath & Body Works is like a toy store to me. I also love Philosophy’s shower gels. (Philosophy Fudge Cake shower gel – and any other chocolate/fudge scented products are my favorites!) Goat milk soap by GMS is even more appealing to me because it is natural, handmade, and is so good for your skin. They offer soaps infused with essential oils such as tea tree, lavender, and lemongrass. I am using the tea tree bar for my face. Tea tree is great for people with skin conditions such as acne, rosacea, psoriasis, or oily skin. Goat milk soap is also known to help people suffering from eczema. There are numerous testimonies on the site about people who have suffered from severe eczema that had it clear up after continued use of the goat milk soap. There’s so much more to learn about the goodness of goat milk soap, you really should read it for yourself on their website.
I’m currently using the Lavender essential oil bar in the bath for myself and the Baby Powder scented bar for my two-year-old. GMS offers a variety of different scents to choose from. My wishlist is already made for my next order:
SOAPS: Luv Spell (combination of citrus and florals), Oatmeal Milk & Honey, and Pink Sugary (rich vanilla laced with sweet top notes of sugar)
LOTION: Cold Relief Lotion (Eucalyptus helps relieve your cold symptoms), Tea Tree Lotion (Tea Tree lotion stick for all your bites, stings, scrapes, burns, and cuts), Scented Lotion Tub (for moisturizing)
LIPS: Lip Balm (black cherry)
TUMMY: Goat Milk Fudge (Creamy fudge made with lots of yummy goat milk. Available in chocolate and peanut butter.)
When you order, you can also choose up to 3 samples and products arrive via USPS Priority Mail, which makes shipping charges fairly reasonable — even to Hawaii.
