Goat Milk soap Review by Dina at Just Another Blog
Goat Milk Stuff is a family-owned business in rural Indiana. The Jonas Family has 8 children and lives on a 3 acre homestead. PJ and Jim Jonas started making soap about four years ago because they wanted to avoid using chemicals on the children’s skin.
The Jonas Family is made up of Dad (Jim), Mom (PJ), and the children - Brett (12), Colter (10), Emery (8), Fletcher (7), Greyden (6), Hewitt (4), Indigo (3), and Jade (1). All members of the Jonas family are involved in the soap making process – from milking the goats to bagging the soap.
Each bar of soap contains over one ounce of raw goat milk. The Alpine goats that produce the milk are not fed any antibiotics or growth hormones. Goat Milk Stuff use natural fats, coconut oil and olive oil to make their soaps. The colors of the soaps do not come from dyes or synthetics but from natural compounds and herbs. The soaps are scented with high quality essential or fragrance oils.
My Review
I first heard of Goat Milk Stuff and their soaps at the Berries and Cream Blog Design. I won their giveaway – thank you, Revka! – and was the lucky recipient of three bars of goat milk soap. It was really hard to pick just three out of all delicious fragrances! I chose oatmeal, milk and honey, mango, and OMH (oatmeal, milk and honey) scrub.
When I got the soaps in the mail, I was on my way to run some errands, so I left the open box in my car for a couple of hours. On my way home, I noticed the car smelled really nice. It was the soaps – their scent filled the car, light and so pleasant, I just wanted to keep driving around!
Each soap comes packed in a reusable muslin drawstring bag which keeps the soap’s scent even after the soap is removed. The bag is stamped with the company name on one side and the fragrance on the other. I kept one in my car because I liked the scent so much. The second one is now in my socks drawer, and the third in my linen closet.
I have dry sensitive skin that gets even drier in winter. I have tried a variety of soaps, shower gels, moisturizers, without so far finding one that does not dry out my skin. Goat Milk Stuff’s soaps are far superior to any commercially available soap I have used. After using the goat milk soap, my skin feels soft and moisturized, making lotions and creams unnecessary. The soaps produce just the right amount of creamy lather, and leave my skin softly scented. My kids love the soaps too – my preschooler calls them Mommy’s yummy soaps! Bath time is more popular than ever, thanks to Goat Milk Stuff.
I also received a couple of soap samples that I shared with my girlfriends. They both loved the soap, boasting how soft their skin got when they used it and how wonderful it smelled.
I highly recommend Goat Milk Stuff soaps. They are the perfect addition to any spa-themed gift basket and would make a much-appreciated hostess gift. Your friends and family will love them as much as mine did.
Buy it! You can buy these wonderful soaps from Goat Milk Stuff’s online store, or find them at various local markets – check if there is one close to you here. At $5 for a 6-ounce bar, they are a bargain – and your skin will thank you.
