Waking Up Early

You may remember that we had a big video thing the other day. (It’s still a secret what it was for, but I’m hoping I can reveal it in the next few weeks.)  We spent all week preparing for it.  We cleaned up, bought new clothes, and got new flowers for the front porch hanging baskets.   But there was still some last minute cleanup to do, so I got the children up extra early.

Emery, apparently, wasn’t quite ready to get up.  Fletcher and Greyden pretended that they weren’t either (notice the smirks).  But they were just trying to avoid cleaning up.  

It didn’t work, but I thought it was still a cute attempt.

One of the benefits of homeschooling and running my own business is that I don’t have to get up super early in the morning.  And I take great advantage of that fact and regularly sleep in til after 8 am.  What about you, what time do you usually get up?

    Before 6:30. :D

    I used to sleep in until like 9 or 10 almost every morning…

    Alarm goes off at 5:00 am sharp.  During the week.  Weekends I “sleep in” til about 7:30.  Back when I was in college I could sleep til 11:30 or noon.

      5:00 am kills me!!!  Fortunately I don’t have to do it often. ;)

    I’m usually up between 6 & 6:30.  Once it starts getting light, I can’t sleep no matter how hard I try.  I do get about a 15 – 20 minute nap most afternoons.  Anything longer than that, I’m groggy and out of synch the rest of the day.
    But, I also have mornings when my dog, Augie Tanner, wakes me up around 5am to go out for potty.  So, after I take him out and come back in, I go back to bed, but usually cannot go back to sleep.
    With all you have to do, PJ, I don’t understand how you can sleep until after 8 and still get everything done.  You’re a lucky lady because you CAN sleep in.

      I know – I use to feel like a “slacker” for sleeping in, but it is just so much better for me and the family.  I do not do well getting up early.  But I did get up at 7:30 this morning. LOL  

      Oh – and I can fall back to sleep in an instant! Drives Jim crazy some times! LOL
