Kids Cooking – Egg Sandwiches

We have been getting a lot of eggs from our chickens lately. One of our favorite things to cook when we have an excess of them are egg sandwiches! They are super easy, which makes them great for the kids to cook

First, Emery washes his hands with our goat milk soap:

Then he drops some rolls in the toaster (english muffins work well also):

Next he drops the sausage in the skillet:

And catches the bread coming out of the toaster:

And adds cheese to the toasted bread:

He flips the sausages to cook the other side. Emery is great at flipping, but you can use a spatula if you’re not comfortable with your flipping skills:

And adds the fully cooked sausage on top of the cheese:

Next he cooks the eggs:

And adds them to the sandwiches:

Then he eats!

Emery likes his eggs scrambled, but several of the Jonases prefer the egg cooked over-easy so that you can dip the sandwich in the yolk.  I prefer mine like that – lots of yolk and a little bit of ketchup!  It’s making my mouth water just thinking about it. LOL
