I just starting using the hand soap and besides loving the mild citrus scent, I’m looking for the next product I’m going to try. When I saw you and your family on WGN, I thought, wow, this family has a great business that is helping them and helping others. I would much rather help a family business like yours then these big companies that will sell you anything. Keep up the good work. : )

  28. I commented on your post How to get children to stop sucking their thumbs or fingers.

  29. I introduced GMS to a group of ladies, while hosting a Conference here in Scott County. GMS generously donated a soap bag with a sample bar of soap, and a couple of Gift Bags for Door Prizes. Also I am interested in all of your products and will have to budget to try them all. You family is such an inspiration to me and mine. We love our goats. We got into goat raising for my son who has had pretty severe health issues. They have helped him so much not only their milk but the companionship. You guys are great!

  47. My question for PJ and Jim is… how do you give yourselves/give the children “down time” (go on vacation, speaking engagements, etc.) when the goats always need care? Who milks and feeds up while you are away?

  52. My question for PJ and/or Jim is: How do you do it all? I see your posts and the commitment you have to your family and work and I wonder how you do it all. I often feel so overwhelmed with just my 3 little ones that I am curious how others do it.

  57. I’m new to GMS, thanks to my sister by marriage, so my question is what is your most recommended product (aside from soap) and why? BTW I love the soap and just purchased lip balm, bath fizzy, and lotion stick. So far, I love everything except the lotion stick – maybe I’m not applying it correctly…

  58. I commented on the “How do they come up with this stuff” and “What to wash your face with”
And I have to say, I am still giggling over pea soup….

  59. PJ and Jim: (opps!) Do you guys ever get tired of winter and think about living someplace warm year-round??

  60. My question for PJ is this… So we saw how Jim shaves his face with your shaving soap, but what about you? {Assuming you shave your legs :)} Do you use the same method?
Also, do you use make up? If so, do you simply use your soap to remove it?
Last one (sorry, but you asked!)… What, if anything, do you use for sunscreen?

  61. My question for PJ and/or Jim is: Do you have plans to make (or maybe be currently working on) a sunscreen? I would LOVE to have a black raspberry lotion stick (and even better if it was a sunscreen for those hot Texas days!)

  62. I ordered on the phone this week cause I had problems with the website and since we just got paid I am fixing to place another order this weekend 🙂 I am in love with Black Raspberry

  63. I received a log and a soap for my birthday this week and absolutely love it! Also, the hand written note was a sweet addition. 🙂 anyways…
My question for PJ is do you shoot your own YouTube videos and if yes what sort of equipment do you use? I’ve watched several of them and they’re really cute!

  64. My question for PJ and Jim (based on a recent podcast) is, What do you do when you have the opposite love language of a loved one? My primary love language is acts of service, w words of encouragement a distant second. I feel so loved when my husband helps me clean the kitchen or hang up laundry to dry, etc, or when he tells me I am doing a good job raising the children. However, this is the last way my husband would ever think to show love– he prefers quality time or physical touch. By the end of a day with a nursing baby, I want to sit on the couch alone while my husband cleans the kitchen; he wants to cuddle on the couch while the dishes sit in the sink. 🙂 I know it is common for people to have mismatched love languages— how do we go about helping each other so that we BOTH feel loved?

  65. My question for PJ and Jim is… How many pounds of soap do you make a year? Tons I bet.

  66. Having your own business and working with your family seems absolutely wonderful. You are teaching your children good values and hard work. This is more of a statement than a question. If I could have one wish granted it would be to have a business like yours. I love your natural products and all the wonderful smells of your soaps.

  67. My question for PJ and Jim is, how have you instilled such an amazing work ethic into your children? They always seem to love everything they do.

  68. “My question for PJ and/or Jim is: There is a difference between happiness and contentment. What gives you contentment in your family-business?

  69. My question for PJ is, what types of household cleaners do you use? I already use the laundry soap (and I love it). I would love some other tips on natural products to use around the house!

  70. “My question for PJ and/or Jim is: What time do the does your family get up and go to bed????”

  71. My question for Jim is: How did you learn so much about birthing the goats? And do you ever get really nervous about delivering them?

  72. Just a statement, not a question. I love the blog and keeping up on facebook. I love your all’s posts. Even though I don’t really know you guys on a personal basis, I feel like I do through the blog & your fb posts! Keep up the good work! Please don’t discontinue the oatmeal, milk & honey soap…it’s my favorite!

  73. My question for the family as a whole is ..how do you keep from getting in each other’s hair? You live, work, ear, homeschool together…do you ever just want time away or a break?

  74. My question for PJ and Jim is… What type of goats do you have and how did you get started making goat milk soap?

  75. My question for PJ and Jim is, My 2 year old daughter and 6 month old son both have eczema. Can you recommend which products I should try? Thanks!

  76. My question for PJ and Jim is: What first got you interested in raising goats, that eventually led to GMS?
I think it is great that the entire family is involved in raising and working with the goats, and also with GMS.
Your soaps are healing my eczema and I am EXTREMELY glad that I found your wonderful soaps, as nothing else was helping.

  77. My question for PJ and or Tim is: Do your children have the option of WHEN their school assignments are done or are they allowed/encouraged to work on their own as much as possible? How does that fit in with the business responsibilities?

  81. My question for PJ or Jim is: How many milking goats would be reasonable to have to supply milk for a family of 6? (For consumption, with not a whole lot extra)?

  82. My question for PJ and Jim is: do you have trouble with your children lying and if so how do you handle it? (we have tried a lot of different things and nothing seems to help.)

  83. I don’t really have a question I just wanted to say that I follow you on fb and I tell all my friends to follow as well. I love seeing all the new babies and I admire the awesome family you have. Looks to me like your kids are very responsible and respectful and that is an awesome thing to see in these very weird times. We homeschool our kids as well and I know it’s tough but doing that and running a full time business must be crazy busy for all. Although I haven’t had the extra to try your soap yet I hope to be able to soon. Congrats on all the very hard work you do. I know you are very proud of that amazing family you and your husband have created. Sincerely, Leigh Ann Ferrer

  84. My question for PJ and Jim .. Do the kids each have a favorite goat and do they spoil and play with them ? Crystal

  85. My question, PJ and Jim, is how do you manage to homeschool your kids as well as run such a fantastic family business?

  86. My question for PJ and Jim is, what made you decide to homeschool your children? I have a 17 month old daughter and another on the way, and before having children I never even thought to homeschool. Now that I actually am a mom, I’m really leaning towards taking the homeschool route.

  87. And I follow PJ on Twitter! Sorry for the numerous comments! Would love to win this soap. Your products are awesome and I love using them on my children (and myself!)

  88. My question is about your house rules. I would love to know which consequence you came up for tattling. I am having trouble finding a good one to fit the offense. I love your “mind your own business” rule.

  89. Upon seeing a couple of the boys at our local Walmart a cart loaded with Borax powder and gallons of milk. My question is what do you use the Borax powder for?

    • I use it in my laundry to boost cleaning and to deodorize—it prevents smelly soap buildup.

  90. My question for PJ and/or Jim is: Have you tried using coconut oil for cooking or moisturizing?

  91. My question for PJ and or Jim, whats the secret to work together and be married and have fun doing it?? thanks !!

  92. I liked your GMS page on Facebook. Actually I love your page and your soap.
This would be too cool to win as it’s my favorite. Keeping my fingers crossed.

  93. My question for PJ and/or Jim is, have you considered offering products for washing dishes? I’d especially like to hear about something for the dishwasher that helps with mineral build up. Thanks!

  94. My question to PJ and Jim, is…..are you going to answer all these questions??!! LOL! Have a great day.

  95. How did you ever find the courage to jump into this unique “out of the box” business? Where did you learn your craft? Kate Azzara Louisville, KY

  96. I also want to thank you, PJ for a special favor you did for me regarding my last order. 😉

  97. My question for PJ and Jim is: Do you have any tips on starting your own home business?

  98. I would like to know if you bathe your Great Pyrenees in GMS dog shampoo and who has the job of dog washing.

  99. “My question for PJ and/or Jim is: What is your favorite activity, place or hobby as a family when you’re not making goat soap? .” 🙂

  100. My question for PJ & Jim is how have you learned to balance homeschooling and running a famiy business all at the same time? Do you have abundant energy, extremely good at planning, etc? It seems like so much to juggle and yet your family looks extremely well organized and business is going great!

  101. My question for PJ and Jim is concerning remuneration for the children. I think you are doing a great job of teaching responsibility to your kids, but I am curious as to how they are rewarded. I know that GMS is a family venture, and so presumably much of their reward is built into advancing the business and family as a whole, but do you also “pay” them for their work and how is this handled?

  102. I commented on your post entitled “Persephone just had a single buckling! Meet Patriot.”

  103. My question for PJ and Jim is are you thinking about a pet line of products? I know you already have the soap for dogs, but, have you thought about making more products for pets with a variety of scents? Maybe like shampoos, balms and soaps for dogs that chew and get hot spots, made with goat’s milk for dogs as well as the soaps. Just an idea that I thought would be a another possible source of success for the GMS family.
