Baxter and Bedford

I ran over from catching Reluctant’s kids, Raphael and Renaissance, to kidding pen A, where Belle was pushing.

Jade had towels waiting for me, and was letting Belle lick one of them while we waited for babies.

It wasn’t long at all – maybe a few minutes at the most – before we had our first baby – a boy we named Baxter!

His little brother, Bedford, came shooting out barely a minute later, and we have no pictures of that because we were all too busy tossing towels at each other to take pictures.

We brought them into the milk room and dried them off, being careful to not mix them up with Raph and Ren, while I wrote their collars out and put them on.

Then we took a picture with them, and we were getting ready to feed them when someone came bursting through the door.

    • I know you guys are so busy, so I want you please know that I am only teasing… but your kid count is off too! If you do the math according to quads, triplets, twins and singles your should have 25, but your kid count, doelings + bucklings only equals 22 (and that doesn’t count those missing quads).

Again, I am just smiling as I type this. It is not meant to sound condemning.

      • We don’t always do the math the way you pointed out because we don’t always count kids that were still-born. So even though we’ve had 2 sets of quads, there was only 1 set of surviving quads.
We can do a better job being consistent – but that’s the difference you’re seeing in the math – no that it isn’t correct, but the difference in whether we’re counting kids in the barn or kids that were delivered.
Brett will go back through all the posts and be consistent in the way she reports them.
