I know she doesn’t look like she’s 19, but I keep telling Brett that she’ll appreciate looking younger than her age when she’s 30!
Happy Birthday, Squirt! We’re super proud of you!
I can’t believe that my baby brother just turned ELEVEN.
While we usually have breakfast birthday cake, occasionally we are too busy to make it. Sometimes the birthday person insists that they want breakfast birthday cake, and we’ll do it, but most of the time the birthday kid will let us substitute birthday donuts instead. (Remember when Fletcher had them last year?) Since we had to leave to be on TV in Cleveland that day, Hewitt said that he was more than happy with breakfast donuts – as long as he got to pick his first.
Hewitt has become such a smart, talented young man. I’m so proud of how he’s growing up and can’t wait to watch him continue to grow!
Happy Birthday, Hewitt!
I can’t believe my oldest son is 17! He has become a very capable young man. Colter’s birthday is the 5th, so we still had family from out of town visiting for 4th of July.
He did his birthday hugs with all his siblings:
Happy Birthday Colter!
Jade’s 7th Birthday (2014):
Jade’s 6th Birthday (2013):
Keeping our tradition, Jade did her birthday hugs:
Happy Birthday Jade!
Emery turned fifteen last week!
Hewitt put all of the candles on his cake – and made sure to put them as far apart as he could. Because, you know, if you don’t blow out all of your candles in one blow you’re a failure or something like that. 😉
But Emery had no trouble at all! Hewitt was quite impressed.
It’s amazing how much older Emery looks in one year! If you compare his birthday pictures from last year to this year, it’s hard to believe it’s the same kid.
Jade insisted that Emery wear our old birthday crown for his picture with her.
Emery took it off as soon as he could though. His head is too big for it now, he said.
I love how Ginger photo-bombed most of these pictures. LOL
Happy Birthday, Emery! We’re so proud of the young man you’re becoming.
Dad’s birthday was a couple of weeks ago, and I’m just now getting around to writing the blog post about it. Whoops!
The most notable thing about this birthday was that we all got up at 6:00, so everyone looks extremely tired – and several people are still wearing their pajamas. LOL
One of our birthday traditions is for everyone to take a picture with the birthday person. But apparently the 6 am wakeup time got to Mom – she didn’t check the background of the photo like she normally would, so you get a lovely view of our apron/birthday placemat drawer in the background. LOL
By the time it was Colter’s turn, she’d realized that the drawer had been left open – but whoever closed it didn’t get all of the apron strings. LOL
And we have a picture of Mom and Dad, but I knew Mom wouldn’t want me to post it – she was one of the ones still wearing her pajamas. LOL
Happy Birthday, Dad! Love you.
Throwback Thursday – How cute is Hewitt on his birthday!
Yesterday was Mom’s birthday! The last time we had a birthday blog post for Mom was in 2009, when she wrote a blog post called “Happy Birthday To Me”. It’s been a while. LOL
One of my favorite parts of our birthday celebration is that we get a picture of the birthday boy/girl with everyone in the family. It’s always so much fun to look back and see how much everyone has grown.
Yesterday was Indigo’s birthday. Yes, it’s true – she’s nine now!
We did our normal birthday hugs – one from each member of the family.
After that, it was time to get to work. But don’t worry – we spent the whole day celebrating our special NINE year old!
I can’t believe my daughter is now considered an adult. She’s always acted like a “little adult”. But now her age (and not just her attitude) declares her an adult. Despite this momentous occasion, we still celebrated her birthday the same way.
She still had a birthday cake…
She still hugged all of her siblings and got a photo with each of them…
She still sat on her Daddy’s lap for her photo with him…
And she still is my little girl!
Happy Birthday to my wonderful daughter. I am so proud of the adult you have become!
A couple of weeks ago, our Grey-Bear turned 12!
The other kids didn’t think that he could blow out all twelve candles with one blow, but he did!
After eating breakfast birthday cake, one of our birthday traditions, we moved on to another tradition – the birthday hugs!
Greyden wanted to pick everyone up to prove that he’s big and strong, but Hewitt wasn’t going along with that.
Fletcher thought it was funny,
but Emery decided he’d rather turn it into a wrestling match that moved all over the living room. They didn’t stop long enough for me to get a good picture. LOL
Colter did the same thing, and this was the best picture we got. Silly boys trying to prove how big and strong they are.
Mom and I just took a normal picture – we’re not crazy like the boys.
And Dad always sits in his chair for his picture – he has for as long as I can remember.
We can’t believe that Greyden is already 12! My little “birthday present” (he came home from the hospital on my birthday) is growing up! Love you, Grey-Bear!
My baby brother is now ten!
Hewitt spent the day before his birthday counting down. “Ten hours, Brett! Ten hours until I’m ten!”
He was really excited because, “I won’t be a single digit anymore!”
He blew out the ten candles on his Breakfast Birthday Cake easily. When he started cutting the pieces and lifting them out of the tray with his hands, I asked him if he’d washed his hands after doing his goat chores that morning.
He grinned sheepishly and got up to wash his hands.
Hewitt was born a few months after we moved to Indiana. So we always measure how long we’ve lived here by how old Hewitt is.
Happy Birthday, Hewitt. Love you tons.
