Simplify and Organize Your Holidays I

Busy Mom’s Survival Guide Podcast Episode 041.
Many busy moms don’t get to fully enjoy the holiday season because they are stressed out from living the holiday season.  During this episode I share how I completely revamped our holiday experience.  I share with you some practical changes that we made and give you some ideas for changes you can make within your own family.

To manage our holidays, I’ve put together a master holiday planning list that I use starting the first week in October.  Feel free to use this list for your own personal use and for sharing with others.

  1. PJ, I loved this podcast! As with many of your podcasts, I see the title and think “eh, I probably won’t learn much” but I did (as I always do!) get some great tips. I love the idea of starting planning now and cutting stuff out. And….we also do the same advent calendar thing you do and coordinate with our calendar the same way. We used to give little things in the drawers of our advent box and the kids ended up with junk, candy, repetitive things. This way we have esperiences!

      • I don’t know that I would have called it anything different. Hope I didn’t come across as too critical. Didn’t mean to! I would have thought my holidays were pretty organizes, but I never start planning in Oct and very often do get crunched for time, so I love this approach.

        • I didn’t take offense at all. I’m just curious from somebody who listened to it if you had a different idea. 🙂 PJ

  2. Oh…and a question. You said you give each child about three gifts. Do you do Santa gifts as well or is it “Santa” that gives the three?

    • We don’t do Santa as a person who gives gifts here. So all the presents come from us. Santa is a symbol of Christmas like snowmen and Christmas trees. I didn’t want to get into Santa on the podcast because children sometimes listen. PJ

  3. PJ, love your soap, your newsletters AND your podcasts……….just listened to both holiday planning episodes; however, I can’t get either of the planning list links to open? I had hoped to print them, thanks!
