Goat milk soap is a wonderful choice for people who want clean, soft, smooth skin without a complicated skincare routine.
Made with fresh goat milk and simple ingredients, handmade goat milk soap creates a rich, creamy lather that gently washes away dirt and excess oil.
But not all goat milk soaps are made the same way!
At Goat Milk Stuff, we make our soap from scratch on our Indiana family farm using fresh, raw milk from our own goats. We believe what goes into your soap matters, and we want you to love how your skin feels after every wash.
Here are five reasons people love using goat milk soap.
Benefit #1: Goat Milk Soap Gently Cleanses Your Skin
Your skin collects dirt, oil, and everyday buildup. Washing removes those things, but you don't want your skin to feel tight or stripped afterward.
That's where handmade goat milk soap comes in!
Goat milk soap creates a creamy lather that washes away everyday dirt and excess oil. It leaves your skin feeling clean and refreshed.
Many people enjoy using goat milk soap on their face, hands, and body. If your skin tends to feel dry after washing, choosing a soap that leaves it feeling comfortable can make a difference in your daily routine.
"Love the simplicity! Purity makes my skin soft." - Gloria R.
Benefit #2: Goat Milk Soap Leaves Skin Feeling Soft and Smooth
One of the biggest reasons people love goat milk soap is how their skin feels after using it.
Goat milk naturally contains fats, vitamins, minerals, and lactic acid. While those ingredients are interesting, it's the finished soap and how it is made that determine how it feels on your skin.
At Goat Milk Stuff, we use whole, raw goat milk. We don't remove the cream or replace the milk with powdered goat milk.
We combine that fresh milk with carefully chosen fats and oils to create a handmade bar that cleans well and leaves skin feeling soft and smooth.
If you enjoy the feeling of freshly washed skin without that tight, stripped feeling, goat milk soap may be just what you're looking for!
"My son and I have been using your soap products for many years. He uses the Tea Tree soap and honestly cannot be without it. I always try a variety of soaps and have never been disappointed with any. My skin is so much softer....not dry anymore..." - Anna K.
Benefit #3: Goat Milk Soap Creates a Rich, Creamy Lather
Have you ever used a bar of soap that didn't lather well or left your skin feeling uncomfortable?
A good bar of soap should be enjoyable to use!
Our handmade goat milk soap combines fresh goat milk with natural fats and oils to create a rich, creamy lather.
The lather spreads easily across your skin, making it simple to wash your face, hands, and body.
The fatty acids in our soapmaking ingredients help determine the type of lather the finished bar creates. Some contribute to bigger bubbles, while others help make the lather creamy.
We carefully balance those ingredients so you can enjoy a pleasant washing experience every day.
"This (Lavender) soap leaves your skin moisturized and smelling great!" - Kayla G.
Benefit #4: Goat Milk Soap Is Made With Simple Ingredients
When you're choosing skincare, it helps to know what you're putting on your skin.
Our goat milk soap starts with fresh, raw goat milk from our own dairy goats. We combine it with fats and oils to create soap through a process called saponification.
During saponification, fats and oils react with lye to form soap and glycerin. Glycerin is a natural humectant, which means it attracts water.
Goat milk also naturally contains nutrients such as vitamin A, lactic acid, and minerals, including selenium. However, the presence of these substances in fresh goat milk doesn't mean that finished soap provides the same effects as concentrated skincare treatments.
What matters most to us is making a soap that cleans well, feels good on your skin, and contains ingredients you can understand.
We also offer unscented goat milk soaps for people who prefer products without added fragrance.
"I have been using this (Oatmeal Milk & Honey) soap for years, it is gentle to the skin and the fragrance is mild but noticeable." - Thomas P.
Benefit #5: Fresh Goat Milk Makes Our Handmade Soap Special
One of the things that makes Goat Milk Stuff different is where our milk comes from.
Many soapmakers purchase goat milk that has been transported long distances or turned into powder.
We do things differently.
Our family raises and milks our own herd of dairy goats on our farm in Scottsburg, Indiana.
The fresh milk travels just a few hundred feet from our milking parlor to our soaproom. We often turn that milk into soap the very same day!
We use whole goat milk because we want the natural milk fats and cream to be part of our soapmaking process.
This gives us control over where our milk comes from, how it is handled, and how our soap is made.
Does fresh goat milk automatically make soap better than every soap made with powdered milk? Not necessarily. The finished formula and soapmaking process matter, too.
But using milk from our own goats is something we're proud of. It is part of our commitment to making high-quality, handmade goat milk soap with ingredients we know and trust.
"My family loves the Ocean Goat Milk Soap. The scent is refreshing and it leaves our skin feeling healthy. My husband and son have trouble with their hands being dry and cracking but since using Goat Milk Stuff soaps and lotions, their hands have been so much better. Thank you for great products." - Cathy H.
Is Goat Milk Soap Good for Dry or Sensitive Skin?
Many people with dry or sensitive skin prefer a simple skincare routine and a cleanser that leaves their skin feeling comfortable.
If your skin tends to feel tight after washing, try paying attention to how different soaps make your skin feel.
Our Purity Unscented Goat Milk Soap is a popular place to start because it contains no added fragrance.
Keep in mind that everyone's skin is different. No soap is perfect for everyone, and even unscented products can cause irritation for some people.
If you're trying a new soap, test it on a small area of skin first.
For extra softness, you can also follow washing with our Unscented Solid Goat Milk Lotion.
How to Get the Most From Your Goat Milk Soap
Using goat milk soap is simple:
- Wet your skin and soap. Use warm water to help create a lather.
- Lather gently. Rub the bar between your hands, onto a washcloth, or directly onto your skin.
- Wash and rinse. Gently wash your skin and rinse away all the soap.
- Let your soap dry. Place your bar on a draining soap rest between uses so it lasts longer.
- Enjoy your clean, soft skin! Apply lotion afterward if you'd like additional moisture.
One of the best ways to make handmade goat milk soap last longer is to keep it out of standing water.
Frequently Asked Questions About Goat Milk Soap
What are the main benefits of goat milk soap?
Goat milk soap gently cleanses your skin and creates a rich, creamy lather. A well-formulated bar can leave your face, hands, and body feeling clean, soft, and smooth without feeling stripped.
Can I use goat milk soap on my face?
Yes! Many people use goat milk soap to wash their face as well as their hands and body. Gently lather the soap, wash your skin, and rinse well. Avoid getting soap in your eyes, and stop using it if irritation occurs.
Is goat milk soap good for everyday use?
Yes! Goat milk soap can be part of your daily cleansing routine. How often you should use it depends on your skin and personal preferences. If your skin feels dry after washing, you may want to wash less often or follow with lotion.
Does goat milk soap contain lactic acid?
Yes. Fresh goat milk naturally contains lactic acid. However, that doesn't mean finished goat milk soap provides the same exfoliating effects as skincare products made with concentrated lactic acid. Goat milk soap is primarily designed to cleanse your skin.
Does goat milk soap moisturize your skin?
Goat milk soap can leave your skin feeling soft and comfortable after washing. It also contains glycerin naturally produced during soapmaking. Because soap is rinsed away, it shouldn't replace a leave-on moisturizer if your skin needs extra moisture.
What makes Goat Milk Stuff different from other goat milk soaps?
Goat Milk Stuff makes soap from scratch on our Indiana family farm using fresh, raw goat milk from our own herd of dairy goats. We don't rely on powdered goat milk or premade soap bases. We carefully choose our ingredients to make a rich, creamy bar of soap.

I have been using your unscented soap for 5 days now, and I can feel and see a difference. I was diagnosed with eye lid dermatitis . I no longer have itchy eyes.

Hi Jeanine – I’m so sorry you are struggling with dermatitis and eczema! I said a prayer the soap helps! :) Erin

I’m so excited to try your soap. I have had Dermatitis as a child and now I have Exzema. It’s not noticeable but sure is itchy and dry. Every time I get a pedicure they comment on how dry my skin is. Their remedies only last until I wash it off. If this works for me I will be a lifetime customer 🤞♥️.
