Baking Soda
Baking soda helps to clean your teeth because it is slightly abrasive which helps to clean the tooth’s surface. This can also help brush away plaque which helps prevent tooth decay, cavities, and gum disease. It helps balance the pH level in your mouth, which can help prevent tooth decay and enamel erosion. It can also help combat bad breath by absorbing odors and preventing bacteria build up that causes bad breath.

Bentonite Clay
Bentonite clay is slightly abrasive and helps to remove plaque from tooth surfaces. It is very absorbtive and can help remove bacteria and toxins that lead to bad breath. It may help to slightly increase the pH level in the mouth which can also help prevent bacteria growth. There is the possibilities that the minerals it contains (such as magnesium and calcium) can help support tooth remineralization. We only use food grade bentonite clay in our tooth powder.

Calcium Carbonate
Calcium carbonate has been shown to not only help remineralize your teeth, but it can also help decrease enamel sensitivity. It can also help reduce cavities by naturally increasing plaque fluoride levels which reduce cavities. It is a mild abrasive that helps remove plaque from your teeth. In fact, a one study found that toothpastes with calcium carbonate removed more plaque than those without it, perhaps because it can neutralize harmful plaque acids. 

Essential Oils
Essential oils are purely plant derived and can provide many benefits for you and your skin. From the relaxing and refreshing effects of oils often used in aromatherapy to the reduction of the effects of skin problems like acne, you will find these oils to be powerful, especially when combined with the wonderful qualities of goat milk.

Peppermint Essential Oil
Peppermint essential oil has been shown to help increase blood circulation which makes it a good choice for people with diabetes or arthritis. It has antiseptic properties and can help fight bacteria. A published study found that wound dressings with peppermint essential oil added "exhibited inhibition against Staphylococcus aureus (gram-positive) and Escherichia coli (gram-negative) bacteria." Another published study showed that peppermint essential oil was more effective than minoxidil (Rogaine) at improving hair growth.

How to Use the Tooth Powder Refill

1. Choose a Clean, Dry Container: Select a dry container to avoid introducing moisture or bacteria. There are many options, such as the trial-size container or a thoroughly cleaned and dried honey bear container.
2. Avoid Overfilling: Fill the container a little more than halfway, especially for children, to prevent spills and make it easier to dispense the Tooth Powder accurately onto a toothbrush or tongue.
3. Pour Tooth Powder Carefully: Gently pour or scoop the Tooth Powder from its resealable refill bag into the container. Make sure that no water or wet utensils touch the powder to prevent bacterial growth.
4. Secure the Container: Close the container tightly after filling to keep the Tooth Powder dry and fresh. Store it in a cool, dry place.
5. Use Within 6 Months: For best quality, use the Tooth Powder within 6 months of filling the container to ensure freshness and effectiveness.

How to Brush Your Teeth With Tooth Powder

1. Apply Tooth Powder. Choose your method:
   Recommended: Sprinkle the Tooth Powder directly onto your tongue for easier, faster use with less waste.
   Or, sprinkle the Tooth Powder onto a wet toothbrush.
   Or, sprinkle the Tooth Powder on a clean finger and rub it on your front teeth before brushing.
2. Brush. Use a wet toothbrush to brush your teeth according to your dentist's instructions.
3. Rinse and Spit. Rinse your mouth with water and spit out the Tooth Powder. All ingredients are food-quality, so you can decide if it’s safe for young kids who can’t spit well.
4. Keep It Clean. To avoid germs, never dip a wet toothbrush or wet finger into the Tooth Powder. Always sprinkle the Tooth Powder out of the container.
