Shampoo Unscented Travel Goat Milk Soap

Shampoo Unscented soap has no added scent.

The unscented soap varieties smell like soap, yet do not have any added scents or fragrances (including essential oils!) to reduce the risk of irritation. Unscented soap does still have a smell because the ingredients used in soap production contain natural scents that we do not chemically remove. For example, coconut oil smells like coconut oil, milk smells like milk, and unscented soap smells like unscented soap.

If you are hyper-sensitive to scents in general, start with a smaller sized bar to make sure the pure soap smell itself is not irritating.

Please be aware that we make many scented products in our Soaproom. While there is no added scent to the Shampoo Unscented Goat Milk Soap itself, when you receive your soap you may be able to smell scents on the exterior of your soap and the packaging it arrives in. If you are extremely sensitive to scent, you can remove the packaging and even wash with the soap once to remove any scent that may have settled out of the air onto your soap.

We would love to someday have a separate building dedicated to unscented products and packaging, but unfortunately, we don't have that ability at present.

We weigh all shampoo bars six weeks after we make them to make sure they’re heavy enough. As the shampoo bars get older, they last longer. But they might get a bit lighter over time because they lose some water weight.

Raw Goat Milk
Unlike our competitors, we only use goat milk from our own herd of healthy, pastured dairy goats. Our milk travels several hundred feet from our milking parlor to our soaproom. It isn't transported hundreds of miles and it's often turned into soap the same day it is collected. This ultra-fresh milk is as healthy as possible and is high in skin-nourishing ingredients like Selenium, Vitamin A, and Lactic Acid.

Olive Oil
Olive oil is a natural emollient, and can keep your skin hydrated and nourished. Its healthy fats can penetrate deeply into your skin, leaving it soft and supple. It is packed with antioxidants like vitamin E and polyphenols that can help neutralize free radicals and reduce inflammation caused by sun damage. This can help prevent signs of aging like wrinkles and fine lines. It contains anti-inflammatory compounds that can help soothe your skin as well as natural antimicrobial compounds that can help fight bacteria on your skin.

Coconut Oil
Coconut oil is a natural moisturizer that can make your skin feel soft and smooth. Coconut oil has antimicrobial properties, antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties that can help treat skin conditions like acne, eczema, and psoriasis. Coconut oil has a small amount of natural SPF, so it can provide some minor sun protection for your skin. Coconut oil contains vitamin E, which can help even out your skin tone and reduce dark spots.

Shea Butter
Shea butter is packed with fatty acids that help hydrate, nourish, and keep your skin soft. It helps balance sebum production which prevents the build-up of oil on your skin. It contains cinnamic acid, which has anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial properties that can help to promote healing and prevent infection. It is rich in vitamins A and E, which can help improve skin elasticity and reduce fine lines and wrinkles. It also contains antioxidants which help to protect skin from damage caused by free radicals and oxidative stress.

Cocoa Butter
Cocoa butter helps keep your skin healthy, hydrated, and soft because it creates a barrier that locks in moisture. It has lots of natural antioxidants that protect your skin from free radical damage caused by the sun and pollution. These antioxidants slow skin aging and can help reduce wrinkles and fine lines, so your healthy skin can look youthful for longer. It is also packed with essential fatty acids that help make your skin more elastic and firm which can also help repair skin damage and help reduce stretch marks and scars.

Castor Oil
If you have acne, rosacea, or any other inflammatory skin condition, castor oil's anti-inflammatory properties can help soothe your skin and reduce redness. It contains antimicrobial and antibacterial properties that can help prevent bacteria growth on your skin, which can help you avoid skin infections and breakouts. Castor oil is rich in antioxidants that can reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles on your skin.

Jojoba Oil
Jojoba oil goes deep into your skin to keep it feeling soft. It is ideal for any skin type, from dry skin to oily skin, as it suppresses oil production in the skin while keeping your skin hydrated. Jojoba mimics human sebum without clogging pores or exacerbating acne. It has natural anti-inflammatory and wound-healing properties that can calm your skin. It is rich in antioxidants and vitamin E, which helps combat free radicals that cause premature aging.

Saponified
Saponification is the chemical soapmaking reaction that turns the ingredients into soap. We use sodium hydroxide as the catalyst for bar soap and potassium hydroxide as the catalyst for liquid soap. Neither of these ingredients are left in the finished soap. They have all been used up in the saponification reaction and turned into soap.

• Focus on Your Scalp: Clean your scalp, not your hair, for optimal results.
• Expect Limited Lather: The natural shampoo bars produce a mild lather because there are no chemical foaming agents added. Avoid trying to create a huge lather to prevent heavy or sticky hair.
• Use Sparingly: Start with a small amount focused on your scalp. Increase as needed.
• Allow Adjustment Period: Your hair may take a few days to a few weeks to adapt to a natural shampoo.
• Application Options: You can rub the shampoo directly on your hair or lather in your hands first. Experiment to find your preference and which way works best for you.
• Color-Treated Hair. Test first because results can vary. Some people report it extends their color: "I love the shampoo soap for my hair, helps to keep my colored hair from turning gray for a few weeks longer!"

Optional Conditioner during Transition Period.

• Mix together 1 TBSP coconut oil, 1 TBSP raw honey, ½ tsp ground cinnamon.
• Wash hair with shampoo bar, rinse well.
• Massage 1 tsp (adjust for hair length/thickness) of mixture into scalp and hair.
• Let sit 1–2 minutes, then rinse thoroughly.
• Use weekly, not daily, to avoid buildup.
