Please read this special, mid-month edition of the Goat Milk Stuff newsletter!
After Cyber Monday, we received several questions in regards to the recent changes to our soap sizes.
So today, we want to answer the four most common questions.
"Which soap size should I choose?"
As of this Fall, there are now three soap sizes you can choose from:
>> Mega Bar (7 oz)
>> Standard Bar (4 oz)
>> Travel Bar (1 oz)
If you want a soap that is individually packaged and labeled with the scent...
Then you'll want to order one of these soap sizes.
If you like a big bar of soap (like the old Full bar), choose the Mega bar.
If you prefer a smaller bar that's easier to hold in your hand (like the old Half bar), choose the Standard bar.
If you want to explore a new soap scent and aren't ready to commit to a larger bar, choose the Travel bar.
The three soap sizes we offer make perfect gifts for any special occasion.
That's because they're individually packaged and labeled with their scent or unscented type.
They're also just right if you are choosing a variety of individual bars in different scents.
If you prefer buying in bulk and don't need your soap individually labeled or packaged...
Then you'll want to check out the Value Packs.
Soaps in the Value Packs are "naked" which means they are not packaged in an individually labeled bag.
This savings on packaging makes the Value Packs a great way to save money.
Here are the two Value Packs you can choose from:
>> Mega Value Packs (33 oz)
>> Standard Value Packs (28 oz)
Question #2The short answer is no.
"Did you raise your soap prices but shrink the size?"
But if you want the details (by the numbers), here they are...
Standard bars have replaced the Half bars.
>> Half bars were $3.95 for 2 - 2.5 oz of soap.
($1.58 - $1.98 per oz)
>> Standard bars are $5.95 for 4 - 4.3 oz of soap.
($1.38 - $1.49 per oz)
You'll notice this is a huge DECREASE in the per oz price of the soap!
Mega bars have replaced the Full bars.
>> Full bars were $7.15 for 5 - 5.3 oz of soap.
($1.35 - $1.43 per oz)
>> Mega bars are $9.95 for 7 - 7.5 oz of soap
($1.33 - $1.42 per oz)
Here you'll also see a decrease in the per oz price of the soap.
The question about pricing is due to customers trying to compare the old Full bar to the new Standard bar.
Unfortunately, this isn't an apples to apples comparison...
The smaller the soap size, the more it costs per oz.
Just like when you're buying groceries at the store. Larger sizes are typically less expensive.
The same is true for soap.
That's because the labor to make and package a smaller bar of soap is higher (on a per oz basis) for smaller bars of soap.
Not only have we decreased the price of our soap, we've also introduced a new way to save on soap!
You can save even more money if you don’t need your soap packaged in the cotton bags.
>> Standard Value Packs are $39.90 for 28 - 32 oz of soap.
($1.25 - $1.43 per oz)
>> Mega Value Packs are $45.90 for 33 - 35 oz of soap.
($1.31 - $1.39 per oz)
So to summarize the long answer...
No, we haven't decreased the size of the soap and raised prices.
Quite the opposite.
Because we are pouring the soap "taller", your soap size is larger which means...
Your goat milk soap is actually a better value now at a lower price per oz!
As you can see, we've tried to add more value so your dollar can go further.
Question #3You can find the three soap sizes on the individual soap scent page.
"How do I order the different sizes?"
(Note: specialty soaps and limited edition soaps don't always have Mega bars or Travel bars available.)
If you want to purchase the Value Packs...
All the Mega Value Packs are listed on one page.
And all the Standard Value Packs are listed on another page.
You can easily get to those pages with the drop-down menu under "Goat Milk Soap".

Click here to shop all the Standard Value Packs.
Please be aware...
We're currently sold out of a few Mega bar scents and Mega Value Packs.
But, there is good news...
We've made more soap and Mega bars are curing and will be available soon!
And the final question we've been asked a lot lately...
"Why did you make the change?"
The answer to that is very simple.
We want to better serve our customers.
We get it. Change isn't always popular and takes getting used to.
But it has always been our goal to constantly improve what we do at Goat Milk Stuff and how we do it.
The recent changes to our goat milk soap sizes makes the following possible...
#1. The new sizes improve the efficiency of our soapmaking.
We kept the same basic footprint to the soaps and just made them taller. This gets you more soap for almost the same amount of labor.
#2. The new sizes keep free shipping available.
As many of you know, there isn't really any such thing as "free shipping". And with shipping costs continuing to increase, to continue our free shipping terms we have to become more efficient at what we do.
#3. The new sizes keep the same great soap quality.
Our incredible soap formulas are still the same. And we plan to keep it that way.
Our goal is to make the best natural goat milk soap to nourish, moisturize, and treat your skin the way it deserves.
We hope we clearly answered the four questions we're being asked about the new soap sizes.
That was a lot of information we shared with you and we thank you for the time you took to read it!
We also appreciate your support during this transition and look forward to continuing to serve you in 2021.
