Almond Goat Milk Soap
Almond Goat Milk Soap is scented with almond essential oil and smells like cherries. This essential oil naturally turns the soap a slight orange color. There is also a sprinkling of cocoa powder on the top of the soap to give it more visual appeal.
Our Goat Milk Soaps are available in a few different sizes. Full bars weigh between 5 and 5.3 oz. They are hand-cut, so measurements will vary, but they are roughly 3.5" long by 1.7" wide by 1.7" high. Please see the soap size comparison chart for details on our various soap sizes. Each bar of Goat Milk Soap comes in a cotton drawstring bag. The scent is hand-stamped on the front so you can easily identify each soap.
What Are The Benefits of Goat Milk Soap?
Adding goat milk to your soap provides many benefits for your skin. Goat milk contains lactic acid. This alpha-hydroxy acid helps naturally exfoliates your skin so it looks younger. Goat milk also contains Vitamin A which supports the repair of sun-damaged skin.
The cream in goat milk contributes to naturally moisturizing your skin. Because goat milk contains anti-oxidants, it helps reduce oxidative stress on your skin. Oxidative stress leads to premature aging of your skin and should be avoided. And don't forget that goat milk provides minerals that your skin needs to stay healthy.
The benefits to your skin from Goat Milk Soap are numerous. Using Goat Milk Soap is one of the simplest ways to take incredible care of the health of your skin.
What is Bitter Almond Essential Oil?
Everyone loves the smell of cherries in their Goat Milk Soap and Solid Goat Milk Lotion. This cherry smell is naturally achieved with a bitter almond essential oil blend.
Why do we use a blend? Because bitter almond essential oil naturally contains both benzaldehyde and hydrocyanic acid. Hydrocyanic acid is also called prussic acid and it is poisonous and toxic if ingested. Because of the risk, the Drug Enforcement Agency regulates bitter almond essential oil.
For safety, we avoid using the straight bitter almond essential oil. The bitter almond blend uses fractionated coconut oil and is much safer. It has all the prussic acid removed to make it non-toxic.
So there is no need to worry. This is a safe way to naturally scent your Almond Goat Milk Soap so it smells like sweet cherries. Just the way everyone loves it!
Is Bitter Almond Essential Oil the Same as Sweet Almond Oil?
Bitter almond essential oil is not the same as sweet almond oil. The essential oil is the "essence" of the plant. It adds scent and aromatherapy benefits to your bar of goat milk soap. Sweet almond oil does not add any scent to your soap. Instead, it is an oil ingredient like olive oil or sunflower oil.
You can cook with sweet almond oil. You can also eat it, use it as a massage oil, and you can make goat milk soap with sweet almond oil. We use sweet almond oil in our Goat Milk Shaving Soap to help lubricate your skin. This lets your razor glide more easily over your skin.
What are the Benefits of Bitter Almond Essential Oil?
There are not a lot of studies on the benefits of bitter almond essential oil. Most of the studies are on sweet almond oil. There are some references that bitter almond contains oleic acid and fatty acid. It also appears to be easily absorbed. There is some evidence it contains vitamin E which is an antioxidant. Antioxidants are powerful ingredients that can help reverse wrinkles and signs of aging.
There are also some suggestions that bitter almond is antibacterial and antimicrobial. This means that like Tea Tree Essential Oil it can help fight acne and pimples. It has also been suggested that it is beneficial for your scalp and hair and can assist with slowing hair loss.
Soap Inspired Feelings
You set off with your family for an afternoon picnic in the park. The children are now all sitting on a quilt you've laid out on the grass. You pass around the bag of almonds and the amaretto cookies. Flashes of smiles mingle with dappled sunlight through overhead leaves. Suddenly, a tap on your head directs your attention upward. Looking up through the leaves you notice one of your boys peeking down at you from a big limb he's perched on. He climbs down and solemnly presents you with a handful of cherries that he picked just for you and your picnic. You give him a great, big hug and he rewards you with a smile. The scent of cherries clings to him as you notice he's got several splotches of crushed fruit on his clothes. You just smile and send him off to play. Our almond goat milk soap reminds you of that handful of cherries, a bag of almonds, and that great big smile.
