Scent

Our Almond Goat Milk Soap is brimming with that familiar, cherry-like fragrance we all know and love. A blended bitter almond essential oil produces a sweet aroma reminiscent of fresh-baked treats, both warming and comforting.

Size

  • Weighs 1 to 1.25 ounces
  • Measures approximately 1" x 1" x 2"
  • Packaged in a plastic bag with an id card

We weigh all soaps six weeks after we make them to make sure they’re heavy enough. As the soaps get older, they last longer. But they might get a bit lighter over time because they lose some water weight.

Benefits

Research suggests that bitter almond essential oil contains skin-boosting, natural components, such as vitamin E, a powerful antioxidant for anti-aging. It is also thought to be antibacterial and antimicrobial, potentially reducing skin congestion like acne and pimples (similar to tea tree essential oil).

We’ve maximized the goodness of our goat milk soap by adding essential oils. Goat milk soap is creamy, rich, and filled with wholesome ingredients that replenish and protect your skin, maintaining its natural biome. With added essential oils, each bar is especially fragrant and nourishing.

Our essential oil soaps come in a variety of scents, but all are free of harmful chemicals that damage and irritate the skin. This soap is a natural alternative to detergent-heavy synthetic soaps that dry out your skin and throw off its true balance. Essential oils add a spa-like feel that complements the power of the vitamins, alpha-hydroxy acids, and minerals that naturally occur in goat milk soap.

Ingredients

Raw goat milk; Saponified natural fats, coconut oil, sunflower oil; Almond essential oil; Cocoa powder.

Raw Goat Milk
Unlike our competitors, we only use goat milk from our own herd of healthy, pastured dairy goats. Our milk travels several hundred feet from our milking parlor to our soaproom. It isn't transported hundreds of miles and it's often turned into soap the same day it is collected. This ultra-fresh milk is as healthy as possible and is high in skin-nourishing ingredients like Selenium, Vitamin A, and Lactic Acid.

Natural Fats
Lard contains a blend of fatty acids, including oleic, palmitic, and lauric acids, which nourish and protect the skin. It is also a rich source of vitamins A and D, both essential for skin health. These vitamins promote cell repair, reduce inflammation, and guard against environmental damage. Glycerin is a natural humectant that helps the skin retain moisture, making lard glycerides particularly beneficial for dry or sensitive skin. Studies also indicate that lard glycerides have mild antimicrobial properties, supporting skin health and reducing acne-causing bacteria.

Coconut Oil
Coconut oil is a natural moisturizer that can make your skin feel soft and smooth. Coconut oil has antimicrobial properties, antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties that can help treat skin conditions like acne, eczema, and psoriasis. Coconut oil has a small amount of natural SPF, so it can provide some minor sun protection for your skin. Coconut oil contains vitamin E, which can help even out your skin tone and reduce dark spots.

Sunflower Oil
Sunflower oil is known for its nourishing and moisturizing properties. It has vitamin E, which is great for moisturizing your skin. It has a type of fatty acid called linoleic acid that can help improve your skin's natural barrier and reduce fine lines and wrinkles. It has lots of antioxidants that can help protect your skin from damage caused by the sun and pollution.  If your skin is irritated and itchy, sunflower oil can help calm it down. It has anti-inflammatory properties that can reduce redness and swelling.

Essential Oils
Essential oils are purely plant derived and can provide many benefits for you and your skin. From the relaxing and refreshing effects of oils often used in aromatherapy to the reduction of the effects of skin problems like acne, you will find these oils to be powerful, especially when combined with the wonderful qualities of goat milk.

Saponified
Saponification is the chemical soapmaking reaction that turns the ingredients into soap. We use sodium hydroxide as the catalyst for bar soap and potassium hydroxide as the catalyst for liquid soap. Neither of these ingredients are left in the finished soap. They have all been used up in the saponification reaction and turned into soap.

Directions

  1. Wet. Get both your skin and the soap wet.
  2. Lather. Use your hands, a washcloth, or rub directly on your skin.
  3. Wash. Safe to use on your entire body, including your face and delicate areas. Avoid getting lather directly in your eyes.
  4. Rinse. Thoroughly wash off all the soap lather.
  5. Store Properly. After using, place the soap on a soap rest to dry thoroughly. This will help it last longer.
  6. Patch Test First. If you have sensitive skin or allergies, test the soap on a small area of skin and discontinue if irritation occurs.

Meet Our Goats

We breed Alpine and Nigerian Dwarf registered dairy goats in Scottsburg, Indiana - only half an hour North of Louisville, Kentucky. Our Alpine dairy goats are raised as naturally as possible. We have a 36 acre farm in Southern Indiana, and the goats spend their days in the woods, in their pastures, or in the barn if there's bad weather.

Baby goats are raised on their mom's colostrum and goat milk. Babies are weaned around 3-4 months old. Since the moms are milked for about 10 months, there is plenty of excess milk to use in our goat milk products.
