Ingredients: Raw goat milk; Saponified natural fats, coconut oil, sunflower oil; Essential oils (proprietary blend).
Raw Goat Milk
Unlike our competitors, we only use goat milk from our own herd of healthy, pastured dairy goats. Our milk travels several hundred feet from our milking parlor to our soaproom. It isn't transported hundreds of miles and it's often turned into soap the same day it is collected. This ultra-fresh milk is as healthy as possible and is high in skin-nourishing ingredients like Selenium, Vitamin A, and Lactic Acid.
Natural Fats
Lard contains a blend of fatty acids, including oleic, palmitic, and lauric acids, which nourish and protect the skin. It is also a rich source of vitamins A and D, both essential for skin health. These vitamins promote cell repair, reduce inflammation, and guard against environmental damage. Glycerin is a natural humectant that helps the skin retain moisture, making lard glycerides particularly beneficial for dry or sensitive skin. Studies also indicate that lard glycerides have mild antimicrobial properties, supporting skin health and reducing acne-causing bacteria.
Coconut Oil
Coconut oil is a natural moisturizer that can make your skin feel soft and smooth. Coconut oil has antimicrobial properties, antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties that can help treat skin conditions like acne, eczema, and psoriasis. Coconut oil has a small amount of natural SPF, so it can provide some minor sun protection for your skin. Coconut oil contains vitamin E, which can help even out your skin tone and reduce dark spots.
Sunflower Oil
Sunflower oil is known for its nourishing and moisturizing properties. It has vitamin E, which is great for moisturizing your skin. It has a type of fatty acid called linoleic acid that can help improve your skin's natural barrier and reduce fine lines and wrinkles. It has lots of antioxidants that can help protect your skin from damage caused by the sun and pollution. If your skin is irritated and itchy, sunflower oil can help calm it down. It has anti-inflammatory properties that can reduce redness and swelling.
Essential Oils
Essential oils are purely plant derived and can provide many benefits for you and your skin. From the relaxing and refreshing effects of oils often used in aromatherapy to the reduction of the effects of skin problems like acne, you will find these oils to be powerful, especially when combined with the wonderful qualities of goat milk.
Saponified
Saponification is the chemical soapmaking reaction that turns the ingredients into soap. We use sodium hydroxide as the catalyst for bar soap and potassium hydroxide as the catalyst for liquid soap. Neither of these ingredients are left in the finished soap. They have all been used up in the saponification reaction and turned into soap.

How to Use Essential Oil Goat Milk Soap Bars
To use, simply wet the soap bar and rub it to create a rich lather. We recommend using a washcloth or soap-saver to really experience the rich, gentle, and soft-smelling suds, but rubbing it directly on your skin works well, too. This soap is safe for both face and body use.

Bug Out Goat Milk Soap
Mild and Natural Scent That Keeps Mosquitoes Away
"I LOVE THIS SOAP!!! Just put it on all over your body where skin is exposed, like washing your hands but rinse it just a bit. The smell is very mild and natural and I can leave it on overnight. The mosquitoes won't even lay on your skin except they want to go into your ears (duh, why didn't I think of that!"

Bug Out Goat Milk Soap
Incredible Results: Completely Kept Mosquitoes at Bay
"WOW. Just WOW. It really works and all I've done so far is wipe everyone down with a little of the soap on a washcloth. NO bites! And there ARE tons of mosquitoes out here, But they're not bothering us at all. I can just imagine how great showering with the soap and using the stick will work since it's already working so well."

About Us
The Jonas family is a God-loving, hard-working, ever-learning family that seeks to honor Jesus in all that we do. We began Goat Milk Stuff to share the goodness of goat milk with others, to bring Jim home full-time, and to provide an environment where the children could learn to be entrepreneurs. As the children and Goat Milk Stuff have grown, we've been able to watch all of these goals come to fruition. We have a very simple philosophy when it comes to parenting and educating our children.

Meet Our Goats
We breed Alpine and Nigerian Dwarf registered dairy goats in Scottsburg, Indiana - only half an hour North of Louisville, Kentucky. Our Alpine dairy goats are raised as naturally as possible. We have a 36 acre farm in Southern Indiana, and the goats spend their days in the woods, in their pastures, or in the barn if there's bad weather.
Baby goats are raised on their mom's colostrum and goat milk. Babies are weaned around 3-4 months old. Since the moms are milked for about 10 months, there is plenty of excess milk to use in our goat milk products.

Can we use this soap on toddlers??
We will send a verification email to confirm your answer. All responses are subject to store approval.
Hi Carol,
Yes, you can!
Just take care to not get any in their eyes. We don't add any chemicals to make our soaps "tear-free" because we don't believe those chemicals are safe. The soap will sting if it gets in their eyes.
I hope that helps! Let me know if you have any other questions.
Thanks,
Erin
What are the essential oils blend in the bug out soap? Are your soaps safe to use on dogs?
We will send a verification email to confirm your answer. All responses are subject to store approval.
Hi Melissa,
Thanks for reaching out!
Unfortunately, I don't have an answer for you on that. The Bug Out blend that we buy is proprietary which means that even I don't know what is in it. Some things I can definitely smell like citronella. But other essential oils are harder to pick out and I honestly can't tell by sniffing it whether or not any of them are in there.
I'm so sorry. If we made the blend ourselves, I would definitely let you know. But this is a blend PJ had purchased for her own family's use almost 15 years ago and it worked so well that we just continued to buy it rather than coming up with our own blend.
If you mean this for pet use, I recommend our Scented Pet Soap which does have an essential oil blend in it that is designed to repel bugs that is safe for pets. You can find it here: https://goatmilkstuff.com/products/goat-milk-soap-pet-scented
I hope that helps!

What oils are used in the bug out soap? Is it safe to use on dogs? Thanks.

Hi Carla - we purchase a proprietary blend of essential oils for use in our Bug Out products. So unfortunately, I don't know the exact oils in there. If your dog has any potentially allergies to them, I would avoid it. We do have people use this on their dogs. If your dog licks excessively, I would probably avoid it for safety sake. We don't recommend it for cats for that reason. Hope that helps! PJ
can you use the Bug Out soap on dogs?

We've never had a veterinarian approve the Bug Out soap for pets. But I know we have several customers who use it on their dogs and haven't reported an issue. If your dog licks excessively, then I might be a little hesitant to use it. But I don't know a reason why it isn't safe for their skin - as long as they aren't allergic to any of the ingredients. Hope that helps! PJ
Is the bug-out soap safe for babies or young children? We love Purity, but I wasn't sure about this one since some essential oils are too strong for the little ones. Thanks for your help and for making this soap. It is the ONLY thing we use.

Hi Janet,
It is safe to use unless your baby is sensitive to essential oils. Brett has used it on all three of her children to help keep the bugs away. :)
If you have any concerns, I definitely recommend reaching out to your pediatrician before using it on your baby's skin.
I hope this helps!

Does this have citronella essential oil in it?

Hi Danielle,
Unfortunately, I don't have a definitive answer for you on that. The Bug Out blend that we buy is proprietary which means that even I don't know what is in it. Some things I can definitely smell - like citronella. But I can't guarantee that it's in there, I just know that I can smell it. Other essential oils are harder to pick out and I honestly can't tell by sniffing it what the other essential oils are.

Thanks for understanding,
Erin

Sorry you had difficulty finding that information. When you go to the soap page, under the ingredients is a link that says "size guide". You can click on that and it will pop up with the weight and dimensions. You can also go to this link: https://goatmilkstuff.com/size I hope that helps! Let me know if you have any other questions! Thanks, PJ
One of the reviews mentioned Bug Out Spray. I am ordering the Bug Out Soap but I would also be interested in Bug Out Spray but I cannot find it. Thank you.
