Ingredients: Raw goat milk; Saponified rosemary and nettle infused olive oil, coconut oil, shea butter, cocoa butter, castor oil, jojoba oil; Lavender essential oil.
Commonly used in aromatherapy, Lavender exudes a floral and sweet scent that is revered for its calming effects. As an adaptogen, Lavender naturally relaxes the nervous system, making it the perfect companion for your wind-down ritual before bed or any time you need a moment of peace and clarity. Characterized by the delicate purple hue of its flowers, Lavender may seem airy and light, but the plant is actually complex and resilient ā which reminds us of our gentle, but effective Goat Milk Soaps.
Lavender Shampoo Soap Size
This Lavender Shampoo Travel Soap weighs 1 to 1.25 ounces and measures approximately 1" x 1" x 2". It is packaged in a plastic bag containing a recyclable soap variety identification card.
Available Shampoo Sizes
Each Lavender Shampoo bar is available in two sizes to suit your personal preferences. All soaps are weighed and meet the minimum weight six weeks after being made. As they continue to age and cure, they will last even longer although they may lose water weight, causing them to be slightly lighter.
Lavender Shampoo bars are available in these sizes and packaging:
- Standard Shampoo Lavender in a Cotton Bag: Weighs 4 to 4.8 ounces and measures approximately 3.5" x 1" x 2". Packaged in a labeled, draw-string cotton bag.
- Travel Shampoo Lavender: Weighs 1 to 1.25 ounces and measures approximately 1" x 1" x 2". Packaged in a plastic bag containing a recyclable soap variety identification card.
Each different goat milk soap size fits differently in your hand and serves a different purpose depending on your needs. Regardless of size, each bar is long-lasting, so it is both a high-value and high-quality product.
Our ultimate goal was to create a shampoo bar that lathers well, gently cleans and rinses easily. We believe we succeeded. And so do thousands of our customers. We pray that this Goat Milk Solid Shampoo exceeds your expectations and leaves your hair healthy and feeling great.
This shampoo should feel fantastic all over your head, except directly in your eyes. To discover any possible allergic reaction, test the soap on a small area of skin first. If a reaction occurs, stop using it and try one of our different recipes that work well with your skin.
Goat Milk Soap Shampoo Bar Benefits
Goat Milk Soap Shampoo Bars are a gentle way to cleanse your hair and scalp, leaving you with luscious, shining locks. Plus, theyāre kinder to the planet and more nourishing for your hair than conventional chemical-based shampoos thanks to minimalist packaging and natural hair-loving ingredients.
Our Goat Milk Soap Shampoo Bars are made with natural hair care ingredients to leave your hair fresh and clean, and your scalp cleansed and calm. Nettle and rosemary are key to our Goat Milk Soap Shampoo Bars as theyāre known for their ability to promote healthy hair growth. Plus we use nourishing oils and butters to help keep your hair healthy and soft. Hereās how they work:
- Nettle: Nettles are rich in antioxidants and polyphenols, handy ingredients that help to neutralize free radicals. Free radicals are unstable oxygen molecules that can cause damage and change to your cells, including hair cells, which can lead to hair thinning. Plus, nettle also dilates blood vessels which helps your hair follicle get more oxygen and nutrients through your bloodstream. In other words, nettle helps create healthy hair.
- Rosemary: We use rosemary in our Goat Milk Soap Shampoo Bars for a similar reason to nettle; itās amazing for hair growth. It works similarly to nettle as well ā rosemary helps with blood flow to ensure maximum oxygen and nutrients are supplied to your scalp. If you like to hear the science behind these handy ingredients, one study found rosemary oil was as effective as āRogaineā for helping boost hair growth.
- Jojoba and Castor Oils: These oils help keep hair baby-soft, plus we use Shea and Cocoa Butters to nourish and smooth hair during the Goat Milk Shampoo washing process.
Boosting your hair and scalp health is super important, but with eight children and a handful of grandchildren, we think looking after the planet for future generations is pretty important too. By using Goat Milk Soap Shampoo Bars, youāre reducing the plastic containers you usually use with regular shampoos and conditioners. Itās a win/win!
How to Use Goat Milk Soap Shampoo Bars
Using a shampoo bar is super easy. After years of refining our recipe and method, weāve created a few guidelines on the very best way to use our Goat Milk Soap Shampoo Bars depending on the length of your hair. Our top tip is to ensure you focus on cleaning your scalp rather than your hair strands for the cleanest, freshest locks.
When using a Goat Milk Soap Shampoo Bar, you will get a gentle creamy lather, but it wonāt foam like most store bought shampoos. And you donāt want it to! Most chemical-based shampoos available have a foaming agent added to them, so they get really foamy. This foam doesnāt help clean or nourish your hair, so itās not very useful. Donāt look to replicate it with your goat milk soap shampoo bar. The lather you create will be a more subtle one, which is still super effective at cleaning and clarifying your hair and scalp.
Using too much of the Goat Milk Soap Shampoo Bar can leave your hair feeling heavy and sticky. You donāt need a whole lot to get the job done. Start by using less, because you can always use more later.
If you've never used a shampoo bar before, it may take a little while (a couple of days to a couple of weeks) for your hair to adjust. The trick to successfully using the goat milk soap shampoo bar is not to use too much. Try to remember that you are just trying to clean your scalp. You are not trying to produce a lather like you get with commercial store-bought shampoos that use foaming agents.
People use the shampoo bar differently - some people prefer to rub it right on their hair while others prefer to lather it in their hands first. So experiment to see which you prefer.
If you are new to the shampoo bar, please read this article: Switching To A Natural Shampoo? Hereās What To Expect.
Using Goat Milk Solid Shampoo is one of the simplest ways to take incredible care of the health of your hair and scalp.
Conditioning Through the Transition Period
While most of our customers find they donāt need a conditioner after using our Goat Milk Soap Shampoo, some do email us and ask what we recommend as a natural conditioner as they go through the transition process of switching to a natural shampoo. Our family has been using the shampoo bar for years and never needed a conditioner during our original transition period but one of our customers kindly shared what worked for her. Weāve since shared this recipe with others and it seems to work well for them.
- Mix together: 1 TBSP unrefined coconut oil, 1 TBSP raw honey, and Ā½ tsp ground cinnamon.
- Wash hair as normal with Goat Milk Soap Shampoo.
- Rinse well.
- Massage 1 teaspoon of the mixture into your scalp and through your hair. (Depending on the length and thickness of your hair, you may need to use more or less than 1 teaspoon.)
- Let sit on your hair for about a minute or two, then rinse well.
The customer who shared this recipe with us did not experience any buildup on her comb and told us that combing her hair was very easy. She let us know that it worked well as a conditioner, removed the āwaxyā feeling from her hair she experienced during the transition process, brought the shine back to her hair and both her hair and scalp look and feel healthy.
She did not experience any extra oily-ness after using this mixture, but depending on the length and thickness of your hair, you may need to adjust the amount of the mixture you try.
This recipe is not recommended for daily use but if you love it, it can be used as a weekly treatment.
Goat Milk Shampoo for Color-Treated Hair
If you have color treated hair, you need to test the shampoo. We have customers who use it successfully on their color-treated hair, while other customers find it removes the color. Inexpensive home color treatments seem to have the most problems. It may also improve how long your color lasts. One customer did tell us:
"I love the shampoo soap for my hair, helps to keep my colored hair from turning gray for a few weeks longer!"

Ingredients
Ingredients
Ingredients: Raw goat milk; Saponified rosemary and nettle infused olive oil, coconut oil, shea butter, cocoa butter, castor oil, jojoba oil; Lavender essential oil.
Raw Goat Milk
Unlike our competitors, we only use goat milk from our own herd of healthy, pastured dairy goats. Our milk travels several hundred feet from our milking parlor to our soaproom. It isn't transported hundreds of miles and it's often turned into soap the same day it is collected. This ultra-fresh milk is as healthy as possible and is high in skin-nourishing ingredients like Selenium, Vitamin A, and Lactic Acid.
Olive Oil
Olive oil is a natural emollient, and can keep your skin hydrated and nourished. Its healthy fats can penetrate deeply into your skin, leaving it soft and supple. It is packed with antioxidants like vitamin E and polyphenols that can help neutralize free radicals and reduce inflammation caused by sun damage. This can help prevent signs of aging like wrinkles and fine lines. It contains anti-inflammatory compounds that can help soothe your skin as well as natural antimicrobial compounds that can help fight bacteria on your skin.
Coconut Oil
Coconut oil is a natural moisturizer that can make your skin feel soft and smooth. Coconut oil has antimicrobial properties, antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties that can help treat skin conditions like acne, eczema, and psoriasis. Coconut oil has a small amount of natural SPF, so it can provide some minor sun protection for your skin. Coconut oil contains vitamin E, which can help even out your skin tone and reduce dark spots.
Shea Butter
Shea butter is packed with fatty acids that help hydrate, nourish, and keep your skin soft. It helps balance sebum production which prevents the build-up of oil on your skin. It contains cinnamic acid, which has anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial properties that can help to promote healing and prevent infection. It is rich in vitamins A and E, which can help improve skin elasticity and reduce fine lines and wrinkles. It also contains antioxidants which help to protect skin from damage caused by free radicals and oxidative stress.
Cocoa Butter
Cocoa butter helps keep your skin healthy, hydrated, and soft because it creates a barrier that locks in moisture. It has lots of natural antioxidants that protect your skin from free radical damage caused by the sun and pollution. These antioxidants slow skin aging and can help reduce wrinkles and fine lines, so your healthy skin can look youthful for longer. It is also packed with essential fatty acids that help make your skin more elastic and firm which can also help repair skin damage and help reduce stretch marks and scars.
Castor Oil
If you have acne, rosacea, or any other inflammatory skin condition, castor oil's anti-inflammatory properties can help soothe your skin and reduce redness. It contains antimicrobial and antibacterial properties that can help prevent bacteria growth on your skin, which can help you avoid skin infections and breakouts. Castor oil is rich in antioxidants that can reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles on your skin.
Jojoba Oil
Jojoba oil goes deep into your skin to keep it feeling soft. It is ideal for any skin type, from dry skin to oily skin, as it suppresses oil production in the skin while keeping your skin hydrated. Jojoba mimics human sebum without clogging pores or exacerbating acne. It has natural anti-inflammatory and wound-healing properties that can calm your skin. It is rich in antioxidants and vitamin E, which helps combat free radicals that cause premature aging.
Lavender Essential Oil
Lavender is an adaptoge that contains a 'normalizing effect' which counteracts stressors. As such, it may help with difficulty sleeping, anxiety, stress, nervous tension, emotional stress, mild cases of depression, and tension headaches. Itās antiseptic and antifungal properties may help alleviate acne, psoriasis, skin inflammations, and even wrinkles. It can help keep mosquitoes away and some have even used it in the treatment of head lice and nits.
Saponified
Saponification is the chemical soapmaking reaction that turns the ingredients into soap. We use sodium hydroxide as the catalyst for bar soap and potassium hydroxide as the catalyst for liquid soap. Neither of these ingredients are left in the finished soap. They have all been used up in the saponification reaction and turned into soap.

About Us
The Jonas family is a God-loving, hard-working, ever-learning family that seeks to honor Jesus in all that we do.Ā We began Goat Milk Stuff to share the goodness of goat milk with others, to bring Jim home full-time, and to provide an environment where the children could learn to be entrepreneurs. As the children and Goat Milk Stuff have grown, we've been able to watch all of these goals come to fruition. We have a very simple philosophy when it comes to parenting and educating our children.

Meet Our Goats
We breedĀ AlpineĀ andĀ Nigerian DwarfĀ registered dairy goats in Scottsburg, Indiana - only half an hour North of Louisville, Kentucky.Ā Our Alpine dairy goats are raised as naturally as possible. We have a 36 acre farm in Southern Indiana, and the goats spend their days in the woods, in their pastures, or in the barn if there's bad weather.
Baby goats are raised on their mom's colostrum and goat milk. Babies are weaned around 3-4 months old. Since the moms are milked for about 10 months, there is plenty of excess milk to use in our goat milk products.
