Coconut Oil for Skin
At Goat Milk Stuff, we’re passionate about using natural and sustainable ingredients in our products, and coconut oil is one of our favorites. We add this nutrient-rich oil to many of our soaps, and on this page, you’ll find out exactly why.
Below you’ll find the amazing benefits coconut oil can have for your skin and why we use it in our coconut oil soaps and moisturizers.
Coconut Oil Benefits
Coconut oil has been used for centuries in tropical regions as a natural skin and hair care product, and it's easy to see why. In recent years, organic coconut oil and unrefined coconut oil have become very popular health and wellness products.
Coconut oil, in general, has a variety of potential benefits, including improving heart health by increasing good cholesterol and reducing bad cholesterol. The lauric acid and caprylic acid in coconut oil also have antiviral, antibacterial, and antifungal properties that can boost the immune system.
Coconut oil is also a great natural moisturizer for the skin and hair, which can reduce inflammation and improve skin conditions like eczema and psoriasis. Let’s dive further into the benefits of virgin coconut oil for the skin.
Benefits of Coconut Oil for Skin
First things first, not all coconut oil is created equal. Refined coconut oil has different properties than extra virgin coconut oil, for example. Cold-pressed coconut oil will also have more advantages than its refined counterpart, as it will retain more nutrients.
So, when considering adding this oil to your skincare routine, be sure to look for products that contain the right coconut oil for your skin, like our natural soaps.
Here are the benefits of coconut oil for skin:
- Soft and smooth skin: Coconut oil is a natural moisturizer that can make your skin feel soft and smooth. It's like a delicious treat for your skin!
- Anti-aging: Coconut oil can help reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, so you can keep that youthful glow.
- Healing powers: Coconut oil has antimicrobial properties, antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties that can help treat skin conditions like acne, eczema, and psoriasis. It’s also ideal for sensitive skin and dry skin, making coconut oil good for most trickier skin types.
- Sun-kissed: Coconut oil has a small amount of natural SPF, so it can provide some sun protection for your skin while still letting you achieve that golden glow if you’re after it.
- Brightening boost: Coconut oil contains vitamin E, which can help even out your skin tone and reduce dark spots.
Why We Use Coconut Oil in Our Soaps
By using our coconut oil goat milk soap, you can enjoy a bubbly lather that spreads easily on your skin without any heaviness. Plus, coconut oil has plenty of medium-chain fatty acids and is a natural moisturizer, which is crucial since many regular soaps can strip your skin of its natural oils and cause dryness and irritation.
Keep your skin healthy and hydrated with our goat milk soap made with coconut oil!
